Piddinghoe Church is part of the Artwave Festival – Rural Trail 59. We are open Saturday and Sunday, September 2nd and 3rd, between 10am and 4 pm.
We are delighted to be part of Artwave 2023, celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. St John’s Church will be exhibiting the work of six artists and makers: Gill Autie, Karen Fielding, Helen Ott, Katrina Miller, Joanne Sancha and Isla Sitwell.
Exhibits will cover Art, Flowers, Textiles, Wicker and Wood. Please visit and browse our creations in our beautiful historic church settings.
ArtWave has grown from a handful of open houses in Lewes and a folded paper leaflet to hundreds of entries from Lewes, Seaford, Newhaven and surrounding villages. The festival encourages artists and makers of all ages, disciplines and at different stages of their careers to take part. It is an inclusive, un-curated festival with no jury selection.
The festival runs from September 2 to 17, and more details can be found online.
If you prefer a catalogue, we will have some in the church or they can be picked up from Tourist Information Offices in Lewes and Seaford.
Make the most of discovering the talent and creativity in your area this summer.
