Opening times and church services

The church is open daily 9.30 am until dusk. There are two Sunday Services every month, details below.  Festival Services are held on special occasions and Pastoral Services when required.

The church is an active and essential part of Piddinghoe’s small and diverse community. It was used during the pandemic, when allowed, by a brass band for rehearsals and is one of the venues for the Lewes and Newhaven wide ‘ArtWave’ exhibition. Every September, we welcome hundreds of visitors to a weekend of exhibitions celebrating the work of local and professional artists and creators.

The church offers a broad and diverse range of seasonal services including Remembrance, Carols, Harvest Festival, Mothering Sunday, and an animal-friendly service which attracted 16 animals, including a horse and a tortoise in 2022.

At the heart of the church’s life is the celebration of the Christian Faith. All are welcome to worship – we have two services a month.

All services for the foreseeable future will be taken by The Reverend Canon Richard Moatt.

28 July– 9.30 am. Holy Communion Service (using the slightly shorter Common Worship Service borrowed from Iford) We shall sing Hymns (About 50 minutes.) The Reverend Canon Richard Moatt.

11 August – 8.00 am Service of Holy Communion, according to the Book of Common Prayer. There is no Address, but a short introduction to the two Readings and the whole Service lasts no more than 30 minutes. The Reverend Canon Richard Moatt

18 August – 9.30 am. Holy Communion Service (using the slightly shorter Common Worship Service borrowed from Iford) We shall sing Hymns (About 50 minutes.) The Reverend Canon Richard Moatt.
